Basal Implants

Immediate Loading Option

Basal implants are the most exceptional system within the group of Basal Implants. These implants are well intended for immediate loading and therefore you get your permanent fixed teeth immediately in 5 days. These implants have a high success rate for all patients.

Why is this method now considered to be the most successful in modern implantology?  Does it have any signs? Basal implants are inserted in the base of mandibular bone, the biological processes, which occur in it, do not cause atrophy of the bone tissue in the absence of the tooth.  Thus the main advantage of basal implantation it in cases when bone augmentation is difficult after resorption, as well as in cases when the long-term absence of several teeth has caused strong atrophy of the osseous base of the gums.

Benefits of Basal Implants

  • They can be applied in difficult cases of bone atrophy. Advanced periodontal conditions can be treated with immediate loading basal implants in just one visit.
  • The place in the deeper layers of bone tissue, which is more strong, provides the survival and durability of the implant, without problems of an infectious factor.
  • Immediate loading basal implants are suitable for almost all patients, including those that smoke, have diabetes, and have no roots.
  • The treatment claims a 98% success rate, a higher rate than that of traditional implants.
  • Risks of possible health complications following implantation are reduced, this is due to less invasive surgery and the position of the implants deep into the sterile bone.
  • Moreover, basal implants can be placed at an angle so that to use the bone area sufficient for this purpose.
  • Patients can get fixed teeth in 3-5 days. Quick loading basal implants can be placed immediately after extraction of teeth during a single visit.
  • Installation of quick loading basal implants can cost less than traditional implantation due to the shortened volume of treatment stages.
  • Oral cleanliness requirements of the patient are less demanding; however, the patients must have perfect oral hygiene and regular check-ups

Types of Basal Implants

There are two kinds of basal implants, BOI (Basal Osseo Integrated) and BCS (Basal Cortical Screw) the hard cortical bone. Screwable basal implants have been developed with a thread diameter of up to 12 mm for insertion into quick extraction sockets.

The jaw bone is made of two individual components, the alveolus which carries the teeth – called as the crestal part – and the basal bone. Because the bone is less dense in the crestal part, it is likely to get diseases from injuries, iatrogenic factors, and airborne pathologies. Related to the crestal bone the basal bone is heavy and solid because it has undergone cortication. This means that the basal bone is less likely to resorptions and infections.

Because they are well corticated, basal bones offer enough support to implants while offering increased load bearing capacity than the spongy crestal bone.

There are four main types of basal implants; these include screw forms which use a compression screw design, disk forms that are useful at externally threaded connections, plate forms with their BOI-BAC Implants and tuberopterygoid (TPG) implants.
